This is so helpful. Rather than packing 3 pairs of shoes I will pack 2. I love my Blondo waterproof Chelsea boots. They are comfy to walk in and look good enough for a nice dinner out. I chose a pair of Salomon waterproof black trail / running shoes. For me, they are more comfy than hiking boots and also look nice enough for walking around the cities.
I wore the Merrill Siren 3 Waterproof shoe all over the British Isles this past June and they were great for city cobblestone walking and hiking. The were supportive & kept my feet dry. I did have to go up a half size from my regular size though. These will be a travel shoe favorite for years to come! I recommend them.
A chunky boot is my favorite, for the streets of Edinburgh.
