Spring is upon us and it’s time to break out the bikinis and sunscreen, and start gearing up for an unforgettable Spring Break. Before you head out the door, I’ve compiled a list of the top trends for swimwear for women to keep you looking great in and out of the water.

It’s all about coverage, support, and comfort. Luckily for girls who are heavier on top, racerback, bralette, and crop bikini tops are very popular and easy to find right now. This is personally my favorite style because you don’t experience discomfort from overly tight neck ties like traditional knot halter-tops. The straps and band are normally flat, and some may even be adjustable enabling a personal fit.
Just because these styles are comfy doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. For this year, swimwear for women offers many cuts and prints that can fit any personality.
These cuts are perfect for water and beach activities allowing you to surf or play volleyball without worrying about falling out of your top. Also, sporty tops can double as an extra bra, making packing light even easier.
Speaking of covering up, rash guards seem to be the new hot beach item. I’ve been seeing them in so many patterns and styles that I’m looking for any excuse to purchase one for myself. No longer just functional, water sports enthusiasts can find a shape and color for every activity while still looking stylish.
High Waist Bottoms
The high waist bikini bottom has been around the last few years, and it’s still holding ground. Instead of a retro style, look for one in a modern print or with cutouts to add an edge to your beach look.
This can be a great alternative to one piece, showing just a bit more skin. That being said, it is not always a universally flattering cut. You may need to spend some time shopping around and try on different suits to find the perfect shape to fit your body type.
Loose flowy kimonos are a perfect beach cover up for spring and summer travel. If you prefer solid colored swimsuits like myself, throw a lovely printed kimono over your suit to add interest without trying too hard. They also transition well for chilly oceanfront nights. Pair your kimono with a tee and denim shorts for a causal night out or stroll on the beach.
This is one of our favorite trends! Swimwear for women is getting more fashionable and functional, too.
The wrap top swimsuit was very popular last year, and it’s back again. This style is usually very comfortable with just a tie at the back, and a bit more coverage around the torso. It can create the illusion of a slimmer and longer midsection, similar to a long line top.
I prefer this look in a solid color so it doesn’t distract from the interesting cut of the swimsuit.
I love rompers for any beach or warm destination. They can easily transition from sand to sightseeing with a change of shoes and jewelry. Most styles are non-constricting and super comfortable especially in soft airy materials, making them great for hot and humid areas.
Now if it was only easier to go to the restroom…

Lace-up, crocheted fabric, and laser cut materials are available in almost any brand and price point. These popular details can add a twist to an otherwise traditional shape, and sometimes show just a little more skin. For a bohemian look opt for a crochet top, or search for a laser cut bottom to add a more contemporary edge to your swimwear.
Above is just a sample of cute swimwear for women. No matter your shape or style there is a beach look that would be perfect on your Spring Break travels!
