Don’t Forget These Other Essentials
No Shows Socks
To keep your feet comfy and your sneakers fresh, pack a few pairs of moisture-wicking no-show socks. They’ll protect against blisters while keeping your look sleek and sock-free, perfect for pairing with black travel sneakers!

Dr. Scholl’s Massaging Gel Insoles
Don’t Forget About Gel Inserts!
You can create a soft and comfortable fit in many black sneakers by adding your own padding. Whether they’re boots, heels, flats, or sneakers, add a padded insole to massively increase your comfort.
Even during long promotional modeling gigs where I was required to wear high heels, I survived with specialty insoles for heels like these. For most other closed shoes, like cute black flats, I use a style like these.

Plasters/bandages
Even shoes made for walking can cause blisters, so make sure you pack some bandages, or plasters, just in case. Even a small blister can make it difficult to walk, and you don’t want to ruin your trip because of a blister!

One of the reasons I read Travel Fashion Girl is the breadth of information about various brands. I have learned so much since joining this community especially about different brands that I had not seen before like Sorel, Blonde, and Ecco. I really appreciate being able to read these articles and find out about the different shoes. As with everyone, life is busy and I do not always have time to vet every purchase myself. It is so great to be able to come here and find the information I need.
I have several pairs of Ryka shoes. I think I will try the Mary Jane ones. Thanks so much. You ar always helpful.
The shoe recommendations are great! I have purchased several and love them all!

I spend lots of time in theme parks as part of my job and I can attest that the Skechers Go Walk are amazing for long days on your feet! I am also excited to see there are other options and look forward to trying new, more stylish shoes! Thank you for the list!
I love my Lems shoes. I must have wide toe box…
Shoes are my biggest stresses when traveling because I don’t want my feet to hurt!!! This is a great list of shoes.
Great advice for slip ons. I tried Taos slip ons and found a great airport shoe since even though I have TSA I have to remove my shoes to go through special screeners because I have a hip replacement.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You can’t enjoy a trip if you are in pain from walking. Great tips on shoes.
Thank you for this great review of slip on sneakers! So helpful and easy to navigate!
I love your posts about shoes. I’ve read all of them. I got sandals & gym shoes you recommended. Thank you!!
The Skechers Slip-Ins have been my go-tos for awhile. They’re comfy even after i’ve put a ton of miles on them.
Time and again I see Vionics get rated highly for style and comfort. Time for me to make the switch!
I found this list very helpful. After trying some of the suggestions, I settled on the Ecco Soft 7 in gold color. I love the comfort and convenience and have received so many complements.
Love Vionics and Allbirds!
Good article, I thought I was limited to Sketchers…now I know better.
Right?! So agree!
Very helpful article!
Thank you so much for the shoe recommendations.
I have followed the advice of The Travel Fashion Girl for years. Best travel shoes ever for me have been the Ecco Leather Slip-ons. Actually any Ecco shoes or sandals are the best.
This article was really helpful!
I desperately need to get easy slip on sneakers for my long road trips!
Love how you give many options with the links to the products you discuss-very helpful with shopping online!
Thanks for the shoe recommendations! Very helpful.
Loved this post, very helpful!
I’ve been looking for low top, comfortable walking shoes that actually LOOK like sneakers and I took your recommendation and ordered a pair of the Converse in grey.
I love slip on sneakers, but when I tried to find a new pair for my trip, they didn’t make my model any more. Your article gave me lots of ideas of other brands to look at!
Some good choices here but I really liked the BZees Niche Slip-Ons. My feet swell a lot and the cut of the shoe plus the soft upper really worked well to reduce pain.
I would add Blondo to this list and they’re waterproof!!
Thank you for sharing your recommendation with us Christie, there is nothing better than a comfy waterproof shoe!
I wore a pair of OnCloud throughout Ireland and never regretted the purchase. Super comfortable and supportive!
I’ve long been a fan of Ryka shoes for aerobics. Now have found their Camden Loafer and bought a navy pair.
Liked them so much I now have a grey pair as well. Easy to slip on without tugging at the heel. And there are reflective details on the back of the heel.
Hi Deb, thank you for sharing your recommendation for comfy shoes with us. Always love hearing our readers recommendations for footwear ?
I just have to say I love your outfit – particularly that tan jacket! I HAVE to know where you got it! Please + thank you!!
Hi Kayal, that is so lovely of you! The jacket is a Suede Moto Jacket from BLANKNYC, I have had it for several years but here is a similar one: https://rstyle.me/+gx4BKTJTHyMJzkErQ8QeSw I am also wearing my Rag&Bone skinny jeans, black v t-shirt paired with my Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack and my Skechers Women’s Pureflex3-Wonderlove Mary Jane Flat. Hope this helps! ?
I just got the OluKai Pehuea slip-ons, they have a rubber sole but are light weight, the upper is breathable mesh, washable, and quick-dry. The back of the shoe folds down so you can wear it two ways. I’m breaking them in for a long vacation and I get a lot of compliments, they’re cute.
Hi Sarah, thank you for sharing your review of the OluKai Pehuea slip-ons with us! Hope you enjoy them on many adventures! 🙂
The Payless Skylar slip-ons are the most comfortable thing I’ve ever put on my feet! I can also vouch for their Dream slip-ons. I hiked the entire Cinque Terre in those which was like 17 miles in one day!
Hi Rachel, thank you so much for sharing your recommendation for travel sneakers! 🙂
Thanks – I’ll keep my eye out for the Skechers mary janes as they look possible for my also narrower feet. Most slips ons are too wide for me (and slip off) and I keep looking for a slight heel.
Hi Jennifer, thank you for your comment! Hope you find a travel shoe which you find comfortable! 🙂
I too have narrow feet. I have had the best luck with shoes that tie because I can tighten the laces enough to get a good fit. I also adjust the fit by adding extra insoles.
I just got these and so far am loving them. Thinking of taking them on an upcoming trip to Europe.
