I was gifted a Rimowa Essential Lite and it has one handle instead of two. I had an underseat bag with a trolley, but it just swings around the handle. I bought a new one thinking it was my underseat bag, but the new one does the same thing. I’ve searched for something to use that would be more secure, but I haven’t seen anything. A call to the company (Rimowa) was of little help. They can’t change the handle and since I used the bag (once), they won’t exchange. Any suggestions?

I bought a new suitcase that has a wide pull up handle. The luggage sleeve needs to be 10 inches. Is there anything offered that will fit?
I adore both my Tumi Carson backpack and my Vera Bradley bag collection. I could run away from home permanently with just the Vera Bradley deluxe travel tote, the bottom zippered compartment is amazingly large! Love this blog too! We travel one week out of the month at minimum and I have field tested a million bags (it seems). I keep coming back to my Rimowa trolley and one of my Tumi bags (I have a “doctors bag” style that is no longer in production that holds more than the backpack) or a Vera Bradley. Trolley sleeves are non-negotiable for me.
I am a “bag” lady. I have so many. I travel quite a bit and have been in search of the perfect travel bag specfically for my personal item on my flight. I own a Bagallini tote with trolley sleeve, Longchamp Le Pliage (large) tote, Briggs & Riley rolling tote, etc. I purchased a Knomo brand Grosvenor Place bag just before my 2 week trip to Europe and love it. It has a built in RFID pocket on the outside, lots of separate pockets inside and out that help keep my stuff organized during flight and it has zippers on the sides so if I need it to expand out no problem. When I’m not traveling I use it for my work bag and keep the sides zipped in. Its very well made and yes, they are expensive but worth it to me. The best part – all Knomo brand bags have an ID number that you can register so if you ever lose it and someone finds it all they have to do is type in your specific code listed on the inside label and Knomo will assist to get the bag returned to you. It has a trolley sleeve as well that you can zip closed so when not using for travel it can be used as another pocket. The sleeve fit over my Briggs & Riley carry on – no problem. (not all of the trolley sleeves are wide enough for that handle.) The Knomo is very chic looking. It is currently my go to bag because it is so multi-purpose. However, I take the Longchamp as my roll-up tote in my suitcase for my purchases when I travel. It works great for that or as a weekender.
FYI – For my travel purse, I use the Lululemon All Night Festival Bag. It is a very lightweight crossbody, easy to stuff into your carry-on or personal item, and it saved me from a pickpocket on a crowded Paris Metro due to its fold-over design.

I also have the Lo&Sons Catalina Deluxe Tote, and its amazing! I traded in my regular canvas one for the recycled poly black bag, which is better for me because I tend to be hard on my bags when travelling. It fits perfectly on my carry-on and under airplane seats. The best feature is the bag has a separate (though, it can become part of the upper bag if needed) compartment for shoes on the bottom. It fits my motorcycle ankle boots perfectly. And, it holds a ton!

I was looking for a bag with a trolley sleeve before your article came out . After reading another site for reviews, I purchased a Lo & Sons: Catalina Deluxe Tote. I have not tried it yet on my carry-on but have used it as a stand-alone weekend bag. I like that it relatively lightweight & it has a second compartment underneath the bag which is handy for shoes or other items.

I purchased my Vera Bradley Weekender based on feedback here. I’ve taken it on three trips. What I love about it is the ability to squish down for under the seat storage as long as I don’t overpack it. It’s a softside, so you can easily squeeze it in this bag size checkers if you need to. I bring it onboard along with my carryon and I’ve never been stopped. It is slightly larger than allowable personal bag sizes, so don’t let that scare you.
