It’s quickly become one of my go-to luggage items, and I’ve tested it on multiple trips including transporting breakables to my Airbnb in El Salvador and a four-day business conference in New York.

What impressed me the most was how deceptively spacious it is. Between the smart compression sleeve and zippered compartments on both sides, I was able to pack a surprising amount. The polycarbonate hard shell handled overhead bins and hotel transfers like a champ, and the GlideTech 360° wheels rolled like a dream.

I haven’t used the Blast Pro 40L for long-haul travel just yet, but after testing it on a few short flights, I can already tell it’s a one-bag travel powerhouse.

It’s larger than the 28L version and better suited as a carry-on, not a personal item so be sure to check your airline’s size rules before boarding.

Unlike the standard Blast, the Pro opens completely flat, maximizing interior space. The multiple compartments make packing and organizing easy, and its sleek profile is more compact than many 40L outdoor-style backpacks, without compromising on space.

This is hands down one of the most functional personal items I’ve ever used. I’ve taken the Blast 28L Backpack everywhere Mexico City, El Salvador, and NYC and it fits under the airplane seat with ease.

What I love most is the duffle-style clamshell opening, which makes it easy to pack methodically and access items quickly. There’s a dedicated laptop compartment, lots of small zippered pouches, and a trolley sleeve to slide over your suitcase handle.

It’s also incredibly lightweight and has just enough structure to hold its shape. Best of all? The polished, water-resistant aesthetic makes it work for both casual and business travel.
