The Baggallini Hobo Tote bag is my go-to everywhere bag whether I’m at home or on the road traveling. It has a stylish casual design, it holds a lot, is comfortable to wear across your body, and the multiple exterior pockets are extremely practical and convenient.

Durability

The Baggallini Hobo Tote bag comes with a one-year warranty against manufacturer’s defects. I’ve had this bag for almost one year, and I’ve been using it pretty steadily since I got it. The ultimate test was when I took it on a 2-week trip to Japan as my everyday bag and used it day and night.

The fabric has held up well, it still looks brand new, and I haven’t had any issues with it whatsoever. I especially love that the bag is fully washable, so even though my tote bag is a light color I can wash it if it gets dirty.

Comfort and Mobility

I prefer using the Tote as a crossbody so that the weight of my belongings is balanced, but you could wear it on one shoulder. You do need to be careful because the bag holds a lot and it’s easy to overfill it, causing it to be heavier than you intend it to be.

As I mentioned earlier, I used the bag exclusively in Japan and was carrying water, umbrella, camera, food, and occasionally an extra sweater or scarf in it. It was heavy at times, but I still found it to be comfortable even when wearing it 12+ hours a day.

The strap is adjustable, and the width is about 1.25 inches wide, which I found was ideal, as it didn’t dig into my shoulder no matter how heavy my bag.

Spaciousness

The two side pockets are fabulous and comfortably hold water bottles and umbrellas securely. You can also use these pockets for your cell phone or keys as it’s easy to access and deep, so you don’t have to worry that items will fall out while you are on the go.

The front pocket is perfect for a guidebook when you are traveling so that you don’t need to dig into the inside where your wallet is.

The inside is quite cavernous though, so I would suggest using a makeup bag to corral smaller items from getting “lost.” One good thing is that the interior lining is a bright contrasting color compared to the exterior color, making it easier to see what’s inside.

On my flight from Toronto to Japan, the Baggallini Tote easily held my wallet and passport, a 3-1-1 bag of toiletries, full-size tablet, folding keyboard, writing material, cell phone, d-SLR camera and a light sweater.

Style

I feel this bag is excellent for everyday use, be it for traveling or for use as a commuter bag. The hobo style is quite slouchy and casual, so I wouldn’t use it when something more dressy or formal would be more appropriate. The embellishments aren’t overly flashy or eye-catching, either.

Pros

The biggest pro is the ubiquitous styling of the bag. It blends into any environment and has exterior features that are easily assessable and convenient to use. The Tote holds a lot and is comfortable to carry no matter how much you put inside of it.

Cons

I do wish that the bag had some form of locking method on the main compartment, as I know that some of the brands other products do offer this security feature.

Final Verdict

I love the Baggallini Hobo Tote bag and have found it to be straightforward to use and carry no matter the occasion. The color and styling are casual and don’t draw much attention, but I feel that sometimes that’s exactly what you are looking for.

When traveling, the ability to slide the bag over a suitcase handle is convenient and really is my favorite feature of this bag.
