Packing for Europe in Summer

Written by: Emily Souza Rutkowski

As for packing for Europe in summer, you really can’t go wrong if you stick to classic, simple, sophisticated summer staples. You don’t need much—this is a relaxing beach vacation after all—and in any case, you can buy anything you forget in most resort towns.

Here’s a collection to help you pack for Europe in summer:

Solo Underwire Bikini | Cutout Swimsuit

Basic but elegant bathing suit

To me, nothing says beach-side glamour like a cutout swimsuit . I adore this version from Freya. Prefer a two-piece? You can never go wrong with Body Glove’s smoothies. I like the solo underwire bikini top and matching bikini bottoms.

Fringeless Sarong | Bikini Cover up

Sarong

Sarongs are great for travel because they are lightweight and versatile- you can use it as a cover-up, shawl, dress, and even a towel in a pinch!Me being me, I like this solid black option, though there are many fun print options on Amazon as well.

Take a look at our favorite ways to use beach sarong wraps!

Sunglasses

Sunglasses protect your eyes from the sun, sand, and glare of the water and there are so many fun and stylish options to choose from. My favorite style will always be the classic oversized, but retro and aviator styles are also great for the beach.

Bowler Fedora | Straw Panama

Foldable Sun Hat

Hats are a stylish way to protect yourself from the sun, but they are often difficult to pack. Solution: packable hats that don’t lose their shape!

Babydoll Dress | Tee Dress

Versatile Sundress

Pack a simple dress that works for both day and night. Both of these picks are versatile and breathable, with the Cooperative Oversized Babydoll dress coming in a breezy linen and the Tee dress by Lucky made out of a lightweight rayon.

These can easily work as a swim cover or sightseeing dress in the day and then be played up with accessories once the evening rolls in.

Marly Flat Sandal | Idina Sandals

Strappy, Simple Sandals

The ideal sandals are ones relaxed enough for a day at the beach but dressy enough for dinner. I’m currently lusting over these two stylish picks from Dolce Vita and Born.

Ella Packable Tote | Extra-Large Boarding Tote

Fun Beach Tote

When packing for Europe in summer, make sure to bring a colorful tote that is lightweight yet roomy enough to hold all your beach essentials.

The Ella Packable tote by Tory Burch is both travel friendly and stylish while the Boarding Tote will add a pretty, feminine touch to your European getup.

Now, throw in some sunscreen, a book, your camera and you’re done!
