Online Shopping Guide

I do a lot of online shopping. Whether it’s shopping for myself or doing research for my TFG posts, I make my way around the online clothing marketplace.

Logging so many shopping hours makes it easy to narrow down my favorite stores at different price points, clothing styles, and quality. I know I can count on these resources for both my basic and trendy clothing and shoes to complete my packing list.

I kept the selection of stores in this post to non-travel specific brands. There are some great stores that can provide you with specialty and/or performance gear, but I’ll save those for another time.

The stores featured here carry everyday wear items and clothing that will work for most trips and common itineraries. There are so many more valuable online shopping resources than the ones listed here, but if I had to narrow it down, these are the ones I source from the most.

Steve Madden Sandals

Steve Madden

Without question, Steve Madden is my go-to store for footwear. I can almost always find the style of shoe I need in the online shop, and my shoe closet is filled with the brand.

From sandals to pumps, they always have a great selection and are on top of the latest trends. The prices are moderate and you can often find a sale.

Here are more comfortable walking sandals (with ankle straps) that are stylish, too!

Aldo Loafer | Nine West Sandals

Aldo & Nine West

A tie for second place in shoes is both Aldo and Nine West. They are also great resources for handbags. Usually along the same lines as Steve Madden in price and style, they are an easy shopping alternative for stylish shoes.

DSW Wedge Sandal

DSW

If my three favorites fail me, DSW will usually fill in the gaps. It has an enormous selection, great prices, and a range of shoes to suit every need.

Trendy to orthopedic, DSW has it all. Just like its friends above, you can use it as a resource for purses and bags as well.

LOFT Bell Sleeve Shirt

LOFT

Over the last few years, LOFT has made great strides in becoming an easy-to-wear brand with feminine and uncomplicated clothing styles. They’re always my first stop for great quality and affordable basics.

They have pretty dresses, fun tops, and classic pieces that span trends and seasons. The jewelry and scarf lines often have some great looking options, too.

Add these lovely feminine clothing looks to your travel wardrobe this season!

J.Crew Shirt | J.Crew Linen Top

J.Crew and J.Crew Factory

J.Crew has shed some of its ultra-preppy ways and is a nice stop for beautiful clothing made from quality materials. It’s on the pricier side, so try to stick to classic or really special pieces that are worth the price tag.

On the other end of the spectrum, J.Crew Factory can give you the same taste of J.Crew at a lower price point. The selection isn’t as vast and the materials are more casual, but you can still find some nice pieces to build your packing list.

Some fabrics are better than others for travel–find out how to choose the best fabrics in this post!

AEO Cold Shoulder Top

American Eagle

I’m probably a little too old to be shopping at American Eagle, but I always find a perfect selection of casual tops, quality bottoms, and a great resource for shoes online.

They offer a fresh and affordable perspective and have items that usually work well for warm weather casual vacations.

From ruffles to stripes to cold shoulders, we’ve got the scoop on spring 2017 trends!

Trendy

ASOS Midi Skirt

ASOS

It’s super easy to source well-priced trendy clothing from ASOS, but the shipping often takes a little longer than normal and the sizing is hard to pin down.

The plus side is that shipping is usually free, and return shipping is often complimentary. If you know what you’re looking for–say, a button-up midi skirt–you can usually find it easily by searching at ASOS.

Affordable

Target Blouse | F21 Dress | H&M Overalls

Target, Forever 21, H&M

These three well-known brands are the places to go if you want budget-friendly clothing. I actually prefer shopping these stores online, as opposed to in person, because I can easily find what I need without sifting through chaotic racks of clothing. The quality won’t always be great, but the price point can’t be beaten.

Packing clothes for travel doesn’t have to be a nightmare. Learn how to organize efficiently and save space, too!
