The Mayari were perfect for walking around Italy with a broken pinky toe. They were the only sandal I found that didn’t put too much pressure on it while walking.
I got my first pair of birks when I was 11. I’m so glad people have come around to them. I’ve had Florida’s, Arizona’s, and the milanos over the years but my favorites (and the most versatile in my opinion) are my Madrids and Mayaris. They can be dressed up and are so comfortable. I have been wearing Birkenstocks for years. Due to foot issues, the solid sole of Birkenstocks is great for me, but not those with a thong between the toes. I have an old pair of Birkenstock Guam criss-cross sandals which I love but are no longer made. I have just purchased a pair of Siena Big Buckle sandals in Rose Gold leather from Nordstrom (thanks for your tip!) which I hope will be a little dressier for my next vacation. I like the look of them (more like Guam) for travel more than my Arizonas.

I do not know why anyone wouldn’t have Birkenstocks. My now husband, bought me my first pair 3 years ago and I haven’t looked back. The bottoms were following off – but we just took a trip to India and I had someone glue it back on for me. Here’s to another 3 years! 🙂
